Kimmy Schmidt Moves to New York City

Have you ever heard of a young woman being rescued from an apocalypse bunker, moving to New York City, and starting a new life? Probably not, but don’t worry because Netflix has you covered.

The new original series titled, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” follows Schmidt, played by Ellie Kemper, after she is rescued from a doomsday cult bunker that she has been living in for 15 years. After she is rescued, Schmidt moves to New York City in search of a new beginning.

Kimmy Schmidt has to relearn everything about the world in 2015. She doesn’t understand dancing, living with roommates, or how jobs really work. It’s a safe bet that the new series will bring a quirky new flavor to Netflix.

The series is produced by “30 Rock” executives Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and stars Ellie Kemper, Jane Krakowski, and Tituss Burgess as Schmidt, Jacqueline Voorhees, and Titus Andromedon.

The show premiered on Netflix this past Friday, March 6. No word yet if the series has been picked up for a second season, but things are looking good for Kimmy Schmidt.
